Jumbo the Clothing Co, has an  exciting opportunity for a Receptionist at our Support Centre (SC) in East London. We have one (1) vacancy to fill.

The Receptionist will be responsible primarily for answering the telephone and relaying messages as well as greeting persons entering the Company.

Key Accountabilities

Reception and Admin Duties

  • Answer the telephone promptly, politely and professionally.
  • Screen and direct calls.
  • Take and relay messages.
  • Ensure messages are forwarded electronically to individuals.
  • Provide information to callers with discretion where applicable.
  • Greet persons entering the Company professionally and politely.
  • Direct persons to the correct destination.
  • Sign in Visitors to reception (namely Contractors and Service Providers)
  • Deal with queries form the Public and Customers (within reason)
  • Manage, direct and control the info@jumboclothing.co.za address
  • Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of the organization have been tabled.
  • Receive, sort and stamp and distribute all mail received.
  • Keep memorandum registers updated and issue numbers when requested, telephonically.
  • Update the attendance register on a daily basis.
  • General Filing
  •  Collate the mail to be sent to stores on a weekly basis.
  • Liaise with the Warehouse in terms of despatch details of vehicles for the transportation of the mail.
  • Liaise with the Warehouse in terms of mail collection at the Post Office and deliveries of mail.
  • Purchase Orders – assist PA to CEO and Ops Administrator in writing out orders.
  • Place orders for general office supplies e.g. stationery (as approved by the PA)
  • Co-supervise General Worker(s)
  • Provide assistance with New Store Procurement requirements
  • Place orders for General Stationery (as approved)
  • Follow-up with Service Providers on deliveries or outstanding work (as per PA or Administrator)
  • Assist with meeting room bookings and occasional set-ups for function (lunches / training)
  • Keep contact lists updated.
  • Weekly competitive shopping.
  • Assist with uniform requests as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable tasks that may be required to be carried out from time to time.

Housekeeping

  • Maintain cleanliness in office.
  • Maintain cleanliness at the Reception Desk area.
General
  • Performing any reasonable duties delegated by Management that may not be listed above.

Minimum requirements for the job:

BUYERS ASSISTANT_EAST LONDON

Jumbo the Clothing Co, has an exciting opportunity exists for a Buyers Assistant at our Support Centre in East London. We have one (1) vacancy to fill.

The purpose of this position is to assist the Buyers with managing their orders, supply chain and samples.

Responsibilities:

Order Administration

  • Update OTB (Open to Buy) sheets and notify Buyers
  • Administration of all products and orders placed by Buyers
  • Product and orders control checks to ensure data integrity
  • Manage Kimble, swing tag and courier requirements

Reporting

  • Follow up on outstanding orders and report to Buyers
  • Compile competitive pricing reports
  • Assist Buyers in compiling specific reports eg, best/worst sellers, promotion product

Delivery and Quality Approvals

  • Sign off product deliveries against Buyers order specifications
  • Sign off on product quality using sample received from warehouse 

Sample Control

  • Sample follow ups with suppliers
  • Maintain sample archiving processes
  • Prepare samples for review and promotional activities
  • Compile review outcome document
  • Assist with sample management in the promotion process and oversee correct use of product on Buyers behalf.

Store support

  • Timeous feedback to relevant persons on store and customer enquiries.

Minimum requirements for the job:

The purpose of this position is to have a successful individual that will be responsible for managing an individual store through execution of the marketing and operations plans. Who will co-ordinate specific marketing, administrative, logistics, HR, sales and operations sequences and attends to the general applications and interventions associated with the functionality within the store.

Key Accountabilities

Asset Management
  • Responsible for the branch as a whole, ensuring that the outside of the store is kept neat and tidy and that inside fixtures and fittings are accounted for and maintained.
  • Co-ordination of janitorial and repair services.
Stock Control
  • Is responsible for all stock and will be held accountable for all overages and shortages.
  • Prepare requisitions to replenish stock.
  • Identify and report on slow selling items.

Merchandising

DRIVER_WAREHOUSE

Jumbo the Clothing Co, has an exciting opportunity for a driver in East London,Warehouse (WHS). We have one (1) vacancy to fill.

The purpose of this position is to have a successful individual that can be responsible for distributing stock from the warehouse to the required stores on a daily basis. The driver will be reporting to the Team Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities

  • The driver shall strictly observe Traffic Rules and Regulation and maximum speed limit as prescribed by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
  • In the case of any traffic violations/Speeding fines the driver will be liable to pay the fine within 15 days of receiving the fine.
  • The driver shall maintain assigned vehicles always clean and in good condition, necessary maintenance such as washing and /or cleaning of assigned vehicles shall be done and scheduled properly for the convenience of the client
  • The driver shall be responsible for the routine check-up of the vehicles , routine check-up to include but not limited to oil , brake function, water, lights & tire condition and the like
  • During the waiting time either inside or outside of the company’s premises, the driver shall always stop the engine and electric power of assigned vehicles to save consumption of fuels
  • The driver shall endeavour to give attention of the client or its passenger whenever or wherever, and must always be at sight of the clients
  • Sleeping inside the Client vehicles is strictly not allowed
  • The driver shall always drive the client vehicles safely and comfortably and must exercise defensive driving while on the road to prevent accident. Reckless driving shall be sufficient ground for driver’s recall and consequently be a cause of termination
  • Closing time for regular working hours, the driver shall, at all times park the vehicles at the designated parking area
  • The driver shall not transport non-Jumbo staff member in the vehicle
  • It is the sole responsibility of the driver to monitor expiration and renewal of his driver’s license without causing any inconvenience to the client or the company scheduled
  • Fuel and necessary expenses for the maintenance shall be at the account of the company, however any expenses incurred by the driver without prior approval and knowledge of the company is not reimbursable
  • The driver shall observe strictly the company rules and regulation, policies and directives and instruction of the Company
  • Driver or assistant should be present at all times when loading
  • Driver takes full responsibility of loaded cartons/stock once the doors get locked and sealed.
  • Driver or assistant signs all relevant waybills and attach signed manifest for the respective store to it.
  • When getting to a store, driver and assistant should break seal in the presence of a store/assistant manager. Store/Assistant manager acknowledge by signing the “driver seal control”
  • Cartons get offloaded and checked by store/Assistant manager to ensure the correct amount of cartons gets offloaded. Any discrepancies would then be recorded on the waybill. Driver or assistant would sign of the inter branch transfer “IBT” from the store and load it into the truck/vehicle.
  • Team supervisor/Team leader should always be present when closing the truck door and when putting a new seal on. Team supervisor/Team leader need to sign the “driver seal control” again to ensure no access gained between stores.
  • When getting to the warehouse, driver and assistant should ensure all IBT’s gets offloaded. Dispatch clerk/team leader checks cartons against IBT note.
  • When collecting any IBT’s from stores the driver/assistant will ensure that the IBT is correctly boxed. E.g. taped and sealed. Driver has the right to reject poorly boxed IBTs.
