The purpose of this position is to have a successful individual that can be responsible for assisting in managing an individual store through execution of:

  • the marketing and operations plans,
  • co-ordinates specific marketing, administrative, logistics, HR, sales and operations sequences and
  • Attends to the general applications and interventions associated with the functionality of the shop.
  • Manages the store in absence of Store Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Staff Management

  • Disciplining and counselling of staff
  • Assist with training as required

  • Monthly Float Register
  • Planning of staff tea, lunch breaks and day off

Shop Floor Functions

  • Promote customer service and an environment conducive to a pleasant shopping experience
  • Ensure shop floor assistants are executing duties
  • Assist with merchandising in all departments as required
  • Ensuring high level of housekeeping is maintained (cleaning roster)
  • Relieve in departments during lunch times, day off’s 

Administration Function

  • Control the standard of administration and procedures in the store
  • Assist supervisor/admin controller with cash controlling function
  • Authorizing all transactions on 3A Level
  • Spot checks on cashiers
  • Controlling of Lay Byes and RTS – in the absence

Other Functions

Act as Branch Manager in the absence of Branch Manager

VISUAL MERCHANDISER- GAUTENG

Jumbo the Clothing Co., has an exciting opportunity for a Visual Merchandiser in Gauteng.

Purpose of the role:

  •   To provide training and managing the process in stores and visual assistants in exceptional customer service and experience through implementing top class visual displays and merchandising that is impactful leading to maximising sales and in line with guidelines from the Visual Co-ordinator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

VISUAL DISCIPLINES:

WINDOW BOX

Hygiene 

  •   To make sure the window is clean and has no fingerprints and the floor inside the window has no dust.
  •   The mannequins have no marks on them and the 3-Tier tables have no dust or scuff marks.
  •   Hygiene should be done daily.

Mannequins

  •   Make certain that the diagram of the Memo is done accurately. The mannequins are built/put together correctly.
  •   Steaming – Garments are steamed

Décor

  •   The 3-Tier tables are placed accurately, to elevate the mannequins and to create dimension.

Spotlights

  •   Focused in the correct manner on the merchandise or focal point.

Guidelines

  •   The correct garments are on the mannequins as per Memo and if substitution is required, the correct colour is chosen to better suit the theme.

Colour

  •   The colour story is adhered to as per communication from Visual department.

Price Points

  •   Perspex price point stands are placed to the left of the mannequins when facing the window as a customer.

IN-STORE DISCIPLINES:

ATMOSPHERE

Music

  •   The music volume is not loud enough to drown customer interaction and not too low to a point where there is no sound.
  •   The correct music is playing and suits the store.

LAYOUT AND EQUIPMENT

Rail Alignment

  •   The rails are aligned and straight with a string to create order and for customers to be able to shop easily.
  •   Finger spacing is done on the arms and the correct hangers are used on the correct clothes.
  •   Garments are steamed and jackets are zipped up.
  •   Clothes are placed in the correct order (ie. top, bottom, top) and vice-versa.
  •   Colour story is done from the front and the back of the rail.
  •   Bins are neat and tidy. Items are stacked correctly.
  •   Bins must have price points showing customers the value of the merchandise.

Signage

  •   Price points are correctly placed on top of each rail.
  •   Brand eye levels are placed with the correct garments on the rail.
  •   Signage is placed in a zigzag format. Meaning you place the first eye level on one corner, thereafter skip a rail and then place the next one on the opposite corner.

DEPARTMENTS AND CATEGORIES

  •   Colour is done.
  •   Levels are done with the 2.2 count and 2.1 on the second bin.
  •   Shelves are placed in the second bin of a new category.
  •   Categories are done in groups of 3,5 and 7.
  •   Accessory wall is implemented with the following items: belts, scarfs, bags and hats.
  •   Each category must have a maximum of 1 accessory implemented.
  •   Finger spacing is done and garments are steamed.
  •   Each arm is full of clothes.
  •   There are no gaps in-between your arms and you avoid seeing the white painted wall.

BACK AREA DISCIPLINES:

  •   Hangers – each different kind of hanger is boxed separately and one is pasted on the box to show which hanger is in the box.
  •   Your Visual Designated Area Equipment is done and correctly labelled. This creates for a neat and tidy stock room. It helps with making sure you have a count for all the equipment you have and may need to order for your store.

Qualifications:

  •   Minimum 3 years Visual Merchandising experience within a Clothing Retail environment.
  •   Matric
  •   A proven ability to display and merchandise the product so that it enhances the visual appeal thereof to the customer.
  •   Valid code 8 drivers licence – endorsed
