Jumbo the Clothing Co., has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager in our store in the Denlyn Mall, Mamelodi (GPED).  We have one (1) vacancy to fill.

The purpose of this position is to have a successful individual that can be responsible for assisting in managing an individual store through execution of:

  •   the marketing and operations plans,
  •   co-ordinates specific marketing, administrative, logistics, HR, sales and operations sequences
  •   Attends to the general applications and interventions associated with the functionality of the shop.
  •    Manages the store in absence of Store Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Staff Management

  •   Disciplining and counselling of staff
  •   Assist with training as required
  •   Staffs register management – late arrivals / early departures.
  •   Managing Cash Desk Area (where applicable)
  •   Monthly Float Register
  •   Planning of staff tea, lunch breaks and day off.

 Shop Floor Functions

  •   Promote customer service and an environment conducive to a pleasant shopping experience
  •   Ensure shop floor assistants are executing duties
  •   Assist with  merchandising in all departments as required
  •   Ensuring high level of housekeeping is maintained (cleaning roster)
  •   Relieve in departments during lunch times, day off’s 

Administration Function

  •   Control the standard of administration and procedures in the store
  •   Assist supervisor/admin controller with cash controlling function
  •   Authorizing all transactions on 3A Level
  •   Spot checks on cashiers
  •   Controlling of Lay Byes and RTS – in the absence

Other Functions

  •   Act as Branch Manager in the absence of  Branch Manager
  •   Performing any reasonable duties delegated by the Branch Manager

SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR

Jumbo the Clothing Co., has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Internal Auditor at our Head Office in East London. We have one (1) vacancy to fill.

The purpose of this position is to identify, analyse, evaluate and implement strengths, weaknesses and potential risks in all areas within the company. In doing so, the Senior Internal Auditor will be required to devise solutions for risk area’s whilst reporting directly to the CEO and Executive Management Team.

Key Accountabilities

Audit and Evaluate the Internal Administrative Procedure

  •   Conduct regular health checks on all departments processes and procedures.
  •   Identify risks, propose and implement solutions.
  •   Audits may include, but are not limited to: IBT’s and packing slips, evaluate and monitor controls for sending and receiving stock.
  •   Oversee the resolution of issues between Stores and Warehouse (overs and shortages).
  •   Lay-byes to be checked, and ensuring RTs are up-to-date ensuring procedures are followed to prevent fraud.
  •   Oversee management of stock count processes and evaluate stock count controls across the company.
  •   In Stores: filing of ALL reports including packing slips, ledgers, void reports etc.

Identify risk and evaluate controls across the entire company

  •   Ensure policies and procedures are in place to cover all risk areas of the company.
  •   Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls.
  •   Identify and articulate the root cause of issues identified, the impact thereof and recommend changes to business processes that will address the control weaknesses
  •   Identify high shrinkage areas and design an action plan to reduce shrinkage
  •   Identify opportunities to improve internal controls (including financial)
  •   Ensure legal compliance throughout the company taking into account SA  legislation
  •   Updating existing controls across the entire company (ie effective communication and updated documentation)
  •   Evaluate and propose a cost reduction in service providers
  •   Evaluate service delivery of current service providers and identify poor service areas
  •   Set tolerance levels across the company
  •   Track and report key risk area’s across the entire company
  •   Establish risk mitigation plans.

Reporting and Audit Planning

  •   Creation and fulfilment of an annual internal audit plan
  •   Bi-monthly risk report that will be presented to Executive Management.
  •   Provide clear audit evidence to support recommendations and audit opinion based on results of the work performed.
  •   Draft risk reports for the company with recommendations based on findings
  •   Act as a liaison for audits with internal departments as well as outside auditors.
  •   All reports and findings to be reassessed on a regular basis.

Personnel

  •   Managing and overseeing the stock take team
  •   Establishing a Health and Safety Committee
  •   Establishing a Risk committee
  •   Adding value and active participation on the Audit committee
  •   Assist the HR team in the gathering, preparation and presenting of evidence for disciplinary hearings as well as CCMA cases.
  •   Monitor and evaluate all external third party service providers on their key deliverables as well as cost effectiveness (eg. Security companies).

Financial

  •   Establish key areas i.r.o cost saving service deliverable objectives and risk factors
  •   Set tolerance and acceptable levels of the above
  •   Audit effectiveness of risk management framework
  •   Track and report on key risk areas
  •   Establish and review mitigation plans
  •   Establish a company wide audit committee
  •   Provide independent assurance of the risk management function of the company
  •   Liase and deal directly with external auditors on processes within the company
  • Sit on the audit committee and report to the board

Travel

  • The Senior Internal Auditor will be required to travel nationwide (Jumbo Stores).
  • The Senior Internal Auditor will be required to work occasional weekends.

Minimum requirements for the job:

  •   Valid Driver’s Licence – Code 8 unendorsed
  •   BCom Degree (majoring in account and auditing) and / or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA/CISA/CCSA/SAICA)
